RZR Pro R Front Limit Straps - Should you upgrade, How do they help?

At MTS Offroad, we’re always focused on improving performance and protecting your suspension—especially when you’re pushing your side-by-side to its limits. Today, we’re breaking down why limit straps are such an important upgrade and highlighting our Pro R Front Limit Strap Kit, which also fits the Pro S and Turbo R.

The Role of Limit Straps in Suspension Performance

There are plenty of reasons to run limit straps on your side-by-side, but one of the biggest comes into play when you’re running aftermarket shock valving. A common goal with custom valving is to speed up shock rebound, helping keep your tires planted on the ground as much as possible.

Whether you’re charging through whoops or launching off the lip of a jump, it’s critical that your shocks droop fast enough to “catch” the car on the way back down. Faster rebound improves control and traction—but it can also introduce an unwanted side effect.

What Causes That Loud Clunking Noise?

If you’ve ever heard a loud clunk when your suspension fully droops, you’re not alone. That sound is typically caused by the shock piston contacting the seal head or the internal components of the shock bottoming out at full droop.

Over time, this metal-to-metal contact can lead to unnecessary wear and tear on your shocks.

How Limit Straps Help

Limit straps solve this problem by controlling suspension droop before the shock reaches its mechanical limit. This not only eliminates that harsh clunking noise, but also:

  • Protects your shocks from internal damage

  • Reduces stress on CV axles

  • Extends the overall lifespan of your suspension components

While we recommend limit straps on all side-by-sides, they’re especially important if you’re running aftermarket suspension parts or custom valving.
